About Me

My name is Ayobami Alex Alli, but please call me AY. I am a Software Engineer, Digital Creator, and Educational Management Researcher who loves creating structure and functionalities around systems. As a software engineer, I mostly work on backend functionalities, secure APIs for Microservices, DevOps Integration, architecting software design plans, and more.

My tech journey started with a sense of wonder. Picture a school-age child in the early 2000s, between 2002 and 2005, navigating bulky monitors and the floppy disks of Windows XP. There was no roadmap, no mentor—just an endless fascination with what computers could do. This curiosity grew as I explored deeper, convinced that technology held answers to countless problems, even if I didn’t yet know how to find them.

Although my formal studies were in business education, educational management, and political science, I always found myself drawn back to tech. In 2017, I took a chance and applied for an IT school scholarship. After scoring at the top of the exam, I decided to dive into programming. With some advice and thought, I chose to pursue PHP and MySQL, and that decision firmly set my path in software development.

The adventure of creating something from scratch and solving complex problems was irresistible. As I gained hands-on experience in tech firms, I also discovered my passion for sharing this knowledge with others. I organized tutorials and taught computer science basics to my classmates, and eventually to local youth in a community program.

I currently work as a freelance backend developer, and I am open to opportunities that allow me to collaborate with visionary teams, particularly those focused on building innovative and impactful products. My passion lies in solving complex technical challenges while delivering user-friendly and efficient software solutions.

I co-founded Cardplot, where I also serve as Product Lead, focusing on building the biggest cross-border payment platform that streamlines payment processes and improve user experiences. While I'm dedicated to streamlining complex financial transactions at Cardplot, I'm equally passionate about simplifying the complex world of coding. KodeStory is my latest endeavor, aiming to make programming accessible to all.

Beyond tech, I’m passionate about transforming education and making it accessible for all. My non-tech interests include writing and exploring ways to make learning enjoyable for everyone. As an advocate for educational reform in Nigeria and Africa, I am on the journey to founding a movement called “ECTA” to address two critical issues. First, Shortage of Personalized, Classroom Data-Driven Education for Accurate Decision Making: The idea is to use data analytics and AI-powered solution that can track individual learning needs from early childhood through secondary school, helping educators make informed, student-centered decisions. The second goal is to conduct research and create policies to make Nigerian education more pragmatic, integrating experiential learning and placement opportunities.

If you’d like to connect or learn more about my projects, let’s chat. I’m always open to new collaborations, especially if they involve building innovative solutions that empower others.
